Law (2/5)

And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister. And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
If you love me, keep my commands. If ye love me, keep my commandments.
What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful? Certainly not! Nevertheless, I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
Observe what the Lord your God requires: Walk in obedience to him, and keep his decrees and commands, his laws and regulations, as written in the Law of Moses. Do this so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go.And keep the charge of the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself.
The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
The wise in heart accept commands, but a chattering fool comes to ruin. The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.
Do not judge, or you too will be judged.Judge not, that ye be not judged.
Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.
Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the Lord.Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord.
But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, honor your father and mother,’ and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses.Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.
Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity. My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
Whoever keeps commandments keeps their life, but whoever shows contempt for their ways will die.He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die.
The one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness.Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
We who are Jews by birth and not sinful Gentiles know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified. We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard? He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
