| Anyone who is victorious will be dressed like these in white robes, and I shall not blot his name from the book of life. | Produce good fruit as proof of your repentance. | Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance. |
| While physical training has some value, the benefits of godliness are unlimited, since it holds out promise not only for this life but also for the life to come. | For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. |

| What then shall we say? Should we persist in sin in order that grace may abound? Of course not! We have died to sin. How can we live in it any longer? | What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? |
| Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so whoever feeds upon me will live because of me. | As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. |

| For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the sake of the gospel will save it. | For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it. |

| Let the wicked abandon their ways and those who are evil their thoughts. Let them return to the Lord so that he may have mercy upon them; and to our God, for he is rich in forgiveness. | Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. |

| Consider the ravens. They do not sow or reap, they have no storehouse or barn, and yet God feeds them. | Do not lie to one another, since you have stripped off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self that is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator. | Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him. |
| Let us examine and test our ways and return to the Lord. | Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the Lord. |
| However, whoever lives by the truth comes to the light so that it may be clearly seen that his deeds have been done in God. | But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. |
| Those who live according to the flesh fix their attention on the things of the flesh, while those who live according to the Spirit set their thoughts on spiritual things. | For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. |
