Bible Verses about Mercy

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.
But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.Then he added, “Now go and learn the meaning of this Scripture: ‘I want you to show mercy, not offer sacrifices.’ For I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.”
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved).But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)
Have mercy upon me, O God, According to Your lovingkindness; According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, Blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin.Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins. Wash me clean from my guilt. Purify me from my sin.
Who is a God like You, Pardoning iniquity And passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not retain His anger forever, Because He delights in mercy.Where is another God like you, who pardons the guilt of the remnant, overlooking the sins of his special people? You will not stay angry with your people forever, because you delight in showing unfailing love.
Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you; And therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; Blessed are all those who wait for Him.So the Lord must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for his help.
For the Lord your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn His face from you if you return to Him.For the Lord your God is gracious and merciful. If you return to him, he will not continue to turn his face from you.
For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you.
Remember, O Lord, Your tender mercies and Your lovingkindnesses, For they are from of old. Do not remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions; According to Your mercy remember me, For Your goodness’ sake, O Lord.Remember, O Lord, your compassion and unfailing love, which you have shown from long ages past. Do not remember the rebellious sins of my youth. Remember me in the light of your unfailing love, for you are merciful, O Lord.
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.
What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!Well then, since God’s grace has set us free from the law, does that mean we can go on sinning? Of course not!
And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us, And establish the work of our hands for us; Yes, establish the work of our hands.And may the Lord our God show us his approval and make our efforts successful. Yes, make our efforts successful!
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.
Do not withhold Your tender mercies from me, O Lord; Let Your lovingkindness and Your truth continually preserve me.Lord, don’t hold back your tender mercies from me. Let your unfailing love and faithfulness always protect me.
A good man deals graciously and lends; He will guide his affairs with discretion.Good comes to those who lend money generously and conduct their business fairly.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
Out of the depths I have cried to You, O Lord; Lord, hear my voice! Let Your ears be attentive To the voice of my supplications.From the depths of despair, O Lord, I call for your help. Hear my cry, O Lord. Pay attention to my prayer.
Nevertheless in Your great mercy You did not utterly consume them nor forsake them; For You are God, gracious and merciful.But in your great mercy, you did not destroy them completely or abandon them forever. What a gracious and merciful God you are!
But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many.But there is a great difference between Adam’s sin and God’s gracious gift. For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ.
He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy.
And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.
Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the Lord that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously.
Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.”Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?” “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven!”
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
‘Return, backsliding Israel,’ says the Lord; ‘I will not cause My anger to fall on you. For I am merciful,’ says the Lord; ‘I will not remain angry forever.’O Israel, my faithless people, come home to me again, for I am merciful. I will not be angry with you forever.

For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake.For you have been given not only the privilege of trusting in Christ but also the privilege of suffering for him.
