Bible Verses about Punishment

My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, Nor detest His correction; For whom the Lord loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights. My child, do not despise the Lord's discipline or be weary of his reproof, for the Lord reproves the one he loves, as a father the son in whom he delights.
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.I reprove and discipline those whom I love. Be earnest, therefore, and repent.
A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself; The simple pass on and are punished. The clever see danger and hide; but the simple go on, and suffer for it.
For as many as have sinned without law will also perish without law, and as many as have sinned in the law will be judged by the law.All who have sinned apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law.
Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.Now, discipline always seems painful rather than pleasant at the time, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
If a person sins, and commits any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the Lord, though he does not know it, yet he is guilty and shall bear his iniquity. If any of you sin without knowing it, doing any of the things that by the Lord's commandments ought not to be done, you have incurred guilt, and are subject to punishment.
But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more. But the one who did not know and did what deserved a beating will receive a light beating. From everyone to whom much has been given, much will be required; and from the one to whom much has been entrusted, even more will be demanded.
Repent, and turn from all your transgressions, so that iniquity will not be your ruin.Repent and turn from all your transgressions; otherwise iniquity will be your ruin.
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear; for fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not reached perfection in love.
Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects; Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty. How happy is the one whom God reproves; therefore do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.
You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain. You shall not make wrongful use of the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not acquit anyone who misuses his name.
You should know in your heart that as a man chastens his son, so the Lord your God chastens you.Know then in your heart that as a parent disciplines a child so the Lord your God disciplines you.
He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. The one who believes and is baptized will be saved; but the one who does not believe will be condemned.
He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed.Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools suffers harm.
I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all perish as they did.
But above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath. But let your “Yes” be “Yes,” and your “No,” “No,” lest you fall into judgment.Above all, my beloved, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your “Yes” be yes and your “No” be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation.
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.
Then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment. Then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trial, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment.
Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.Proclaim the message; be persistent whether the time is favorable or unfavorable; convince, rebuke, and encourage, with the utmost patience in teaching.
God sets the solitary in families; He brings out those who are bound into prosperity; But the rebellious dwell in a dry land.God gives the desolate a home to live in; he leads out the prisoners to prosperity, but the rebellious live in a parched land.
The Lord watches over the strangers; He relieves the fatherless and widow; But the way of the wicked He turns upside down. The Lord watches over the strangers; he upholds the orphan and the widow, but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin.
But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died through the one man's trespass, much more surely have the grace of God and the free gift in the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abounded for the many.
Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. Therefore I tell you, people will be forgiven for every sin and blasphemy, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.
Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, But righteousness delivers from death.Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.
