Righteousness (3/5)

There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death. There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death.
For the Lord is our Judge, The Lord is our Lawgiver, The Lord is our King; He will save us.For the Lord is our judge, our lawgiver, and our king. He will care for us and save us.
I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.I am overwhelmed with joy in the Lord my God! For he has dressed me with the clothing of salvation and draped me in a robe of righteousness. I am like a bridegroom dressed for his wedding or a bride with her jewels.
The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, But the mouth of the wicked what is perverse. The lips of the godly speak helpful words, but the mouth of the wicked speaks perverse words.
In You, O Lord, I put my trust; Let me never be ashamed; Deliver me in Your righteousness.O Lord, I have come to you for protection; don’t let me be disgraced. Save me, for you do what is right.
Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed. He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed.
But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance. Then he added, “Now go and learn the meaning of this Scripture: ‘I want you to show mercy, not offer sacrifices.’ For I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.”
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. And even though “I am allowed to do anything,” I must not become a slave to anything.
Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Execute true justice, Show mercy and compassion Everyone to his brother. Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, The alien or the poor. Let none of you plan evil in his heart Against his brother.’This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: Judge fairly, and show mercy and kindness to one another. Do not oppress widows, orphans, foreigners, and the poor. And do not scheme against each other.
You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.
The Lord is righteous in all His ways, Gracious in all His works. The Lord is righteous in everything he does; he is filled with kindness.
Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you; And therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; Blessed are all those who wait for Him.So the Lord must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for his help.
Do not envy the oppressor, And choose none of his ways; For the perverse person is an abomination to the Lord, But His secret counsel is with the upright.Don’t envy violent people or copy their ways. Such wicked people are detestable to the Lord, but he offers his friendship to the godly.
Blessings are on the head of the righteous, But violence covers the mouth of the wicked. The godly are showered with blessings; the words of the wicked conceal violent intentions.
Then Peter opened his mouth and said: “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.”Then Peter replied, “I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism. In every nation he accepts those who fear him and do what is right.”
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.
Good and upright is the Lord; Therefore He teaches sinners in the way. The humble He guides in justice, And the humble He teaches His way.The Lord is good and does what is right; he shows the proper path to those who go astray. He leads the humble in doing right, teaching them his way.
For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous.
Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.
He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly. He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. He is a shield to those who walk with integrity.
Defend the poor and fatherless; Do justice to the afflicted and needy.Give justice to the poor and the orphan; uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute.
Blessed are the undefiled in the way, Who walk in the law of the Lord!Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the Lord.
Hear my prayer, O Lord, Give ear to my supplications! In Your faithfulness answer me, And in Your righteousness.Hear my prayer, O Lord; listen to my plea! Answer me because you are faithful and righteous.
But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings; And you shall go out And grow fat like stall-fed calves. But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture.
But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more. But someone who does not know, and then does something wrong, will be punished only lightly. When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required.

Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are.
