For we live by faith, not by sight. | For we walk by faith, not by sight. |
For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. | For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh. |
|
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. | Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. |
For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ. | For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ. |
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! | Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. |
God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. | For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. |
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. | For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. |
Sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything. | As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things. |
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. | For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. |
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. | The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. |
All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation. | And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation. |
Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. | But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. |
Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. | For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. |
For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have. | For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not. |
You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. | Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God. |
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. | Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. |
And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. | And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work. |
But, “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.” For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends. | But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth. |
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. | While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. |
Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? | Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? |
For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. | For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. |
That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. | Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. |
Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. | Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness. |
Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you. | Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you. |
That God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. | To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. |
