Bible Verses about the World

Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh.
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.
The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become “fools” so that you may become wise.Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him.And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence.
My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
