| Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established. | Without counsel, plans go wrong, but with many advisers they succeed. |
| Lying lips are abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truly are his delight. | Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who act faithfully are his delight. |
| Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. | Train children in the right way, and when old, they will not stray. |

| Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil. | But test everything; hold fast to what is good; abstain from every form of evil. |
