| But test everything; hold fast to what is good; abstain from every form of evil. | Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil. |
| It is well with those who deal generously and lend, who conduct their affairs with justice. | A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion. |
| For once you were darkness, but now in the Lord you are light. Live as children of light. | For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light. |
