Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. | Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. |
I will praise you with an upright heart as I learn your righteous laws. | I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments. |

John’s clothes were made of camel’s hair, and he had a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey. | And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey. |
Eloquent lips are unsuited to a godless fool— how much worse lying lips to a ruler! | Excellent speech becometh not a fool: much less do lying lips a prince. |
The name of the righteous is used in blessings, but the name of the wicked will rot. | The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot. |
Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. | Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness. |
And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.” So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken. | And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. |
Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. | Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God. |
Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart, for God has already approved what you do. | Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart; for God now accepteth thy works. |
I fell to the ground and heard a voice say to me, ‘Saul! Saul! Why do you persecute me?’ | And I fell unto the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? |
My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. | In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. |
The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him. | The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. |
Lord, save us! Lord, grant us success! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. From the house of the Lord we bless you. | Save now, I beseech thee, O Lord: O Lord, I beseech thee, send now prosperity. Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the Lord: we have blessed you out of the house of the Lord. |

Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets. | Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. |
The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray. | But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. |
On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.” | In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. |
Now I am about to go the way of all the earth. You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the Lord your God gave you has failed. This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit. | Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. |
Do not say, “Why were the old days better than these?” For it is not wise to ask such questions. | Say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not enquire wisely concerning this. |
What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful? Certainly not! Nevertheless, I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.” | What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. |
