- Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, then I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with me.
- Now, Israel, what does Yahweh your God require of you, but to fear Yahweh your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, and to serve Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul, to keep Yahweh’s commandments and statutes, which I command you today for your good?
- Don’t think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets. I didn’t come to destroy, but to fulfill.
- Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I don’t go away, the Counselor won’t come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.

- It shall happen, if you shall listen diligently to Yahweh your God’s voice, to observe to do all his commandments which I command you today, that Yahweh your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth.
- For there is not a word on my tongue,
but behold, Yahweh, you know it altogether. - My soul, wait in silence for God alone,
for my expectation is from him. - These words, which I command you today, shall be on your heart; and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.
- “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are profitable. “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things build up.
- Yahweh is on my side. I will not be afraid.
What can man do to me? - When I said, “My foot is slipping!”
Your loving kindness, Yahweh, held me up. - “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are expedient. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be brought under the power of anything.
- Praise Yahweh, my soul!
All that is within me, praise his holy name! - Don’t think that I came to send peace on the earth. I didn’t come to send peace, but a sword.
- For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, to the end that you may be established; that is, that I with you may be encouraged in you, each of us by the other’s faith, both yours and mine.
- I will greatly rejoice in Yahweh!
My soul will be joyful in my God,
for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation.
He has covered me with the robe of righteousness,
as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland
and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. - “Can anyone hide himself in secret places
so that I can’t see him?” says Yahweh.
“Don’t I fill heaven and earth?” says Yahweh. - The angel said to them, “Don’t be afraid, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be to all the people.”
- Why are you in despair, my soul?
Why are you disturbed within me?
Hope in God! For I shall still praise him,
the saving help of my countenance, and my God. - Cause me to hear your loving kindness in the morning,
for I trust in you.
Cause me to know the way in which I should walk,
for I lift up my soul to you. - Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, I give to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.
- He who overcomes, I will give to him to sit down with me on my throne, as I also overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne.
- I will establish my covenant with you: All flesh will not be cut off any more by the waters of the flood. There will never again be a flood to destroy the earth.
