- What is man, that you think of him?
What is the son of man, that you care for him? - Behold, his soul is puffed up. It is not upright in him, but the righteous will live by his faith.
- But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.
- The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable,
but the mouth of the wicked is perverse. - He has shown you, O man, what is good.
What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly,
to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God? - No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
- Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil. Cling to that which is good.
- For in it is revealed God’s righteousness from faith to faith. As it is written, “But the righteous shall live by faith.”
- He reveals the deep and secret things.
He knows what is in the darkness,
and the light dwells with him. - Now accept one who is weak in faith, but not for disputes over opinions.
- Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead in itself.
- So then, as we have opportunity, let’s do what is good toward all men, and especially toward those who are of the household of the faith.
- But he said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”
- So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
- Having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.
- Now who will harm you if you become imitators of that which is good?
- For we walk by faith, not by sight.
- Test all things, and hold firmly that which is good. Abstain from every form of evil.
- Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen.
- For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision amounts to anything, but faith working through love.
- Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God.
- He who searches the hearts knows what is on the Spirit’s mind, because he makes intercession for the saints according to God.
- Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear.
- Knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.
- But now faith, hope, and love remain—these three. The greatest of these is love.
He who walks blamelessly and does what is right,
and speaks truth in his heart;
he who doesn’t slander with his tongue,
nor does evil to his friend,
nor casts slurs against his fellow man.‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment.
