Bible Verses about 'Charity'

And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. Thus there are three things that endure: faith, hope, and love, and the greatest of these is love.
And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.”Above all, maintain the fervor of your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins.
Let all that you do be done with love.Everything that you do should be done in love.
Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil.Love is patient; love is charitable. Love is not envious; it does not have an inflated opinion of itself; it is not filled with its own importance. Love is never rude; it does not seek its own advantage. It is not prone to anger; neither does it brood over setbacks.
But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.Over all these put on love, which is the bond of perfection.
Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.Turn away from youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, together with those who call on the Lord with a pure heart.
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. If in speaking I use human tongues and angelic as well, but do not have love, I am nothing more than a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.Let no one regard you with contempt because of your youth, but serve as an example to the believers in your speech and conduct, in your love, your faith, and your purity.
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. If I give away everything to feed the poor and hand over my body to be burned, but do not have love, I achieve nothing.
Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. Therefore, whenever you give alms, do not trumpet your generosity, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets in order to win the praise of others. Amen, I say to you, they have already received their reward.
We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other.Brethren, we must always give thanks to God for you, and it is only right that we do so. For your faith grows ever more, and the love that all of you have for one another continues to increase.
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I have the gift of prophecy and the ability to understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and have all the faith necessary to move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.In view of all this, you should make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with endurance, and endurance with piety, and piety with mutual affection, and mutual affection with love.
But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly. But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. Your almsgiving must be done in secret. And your Father who sees everything that is done in secret will reward you.

He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty,
And he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.

I will lift up my eyes to the hills—
From whence comes my help?
My help comes from the Lord,
