- Hatred stirs up strife,
but love covers all wrongs. - And above all things be earnest in your love among yourselves, for love covers a multitude of sins.
- He who covers an offense promotes love;
but he who repeats a matter separates best friends. - No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a container or puts it under a bed; but puts it on a stand, that those who enter in may see the light.
- Blessings are on the head of the righteous,
but violence covers the mouth of the wicked. - A fool shows his annoyance the same day,
but one who overlooks an insult is prudent. - He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper,
but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.
Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report: if there is any virtue and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
