- The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit.
O God, you will not despise a broken and contrite heart. - The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of knowledge,
but the foolish despise wisdom and instruction. - He said to all, “If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.”
- For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake will save it.

Why are you disturbed within me?
Hope in God! For I shall still praise him,
the saving help of my countenance, and my God. - But you go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,’ for I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
- I will establish my covenant with you: All flesh will not be cut off any more by the waters of the flood. There will never again be a flood to destroy the earth.
- He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed: that he might destroy the works of the devil.
- My son, don’t despise Yahweh’s discipline,
neither be weary of his correction;
for whom Yahweh loves, he corrects,
even as a father reproves the son in whom he delights. - No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You can’t serve both God and Mammon.
- God chose the lowly things of the world, and the things that are despised, and the things that don’t exist, that he might bring to nothing the things that exist, that no flesh should boast before God.
