| Now, who will want to harm you if you are eager to do good? | And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good? |
| And how much more valuable is a person than a sheep! Yes, the law permits a person to do good on the Sabbath. | How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days. |

| When you pray, don’t babble on and on as the Gentiles do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again. | But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. |
| When you give to someone in need, don’t do as the hypocrites do—blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity! | Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn others, or it will all come back against you. Forgive others, and you will be forgiven. | Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven. |
| When a crime is not punished quickly, people feel it is safe to do wrong. | Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. |
| Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do! And whatever else you do, develop good judgment. | Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. |

| This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: Judge fairly, and show mercy and kindness to one another. Do not oppress widows, orphans, foreigners, and the poor. And do not scheme against each other. | Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother: And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart. |
| Dear friends, if we don’t feel guilty, we can come to God with bold confidence. And we will receive from him whatever we ask because we obey him and do the things that please him. | Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. |
| And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own? | And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? |
| You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is beneficial. | All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not. |
| So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you. | Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. |
| If you had really known me, you would know who my Father is. From now on, you do know him and have seen him! | If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. |
