- O God, thou art my God;
early will I seek thee:
my soul thirsteth for thee,
my flesh longeth for thee
in a dry and thirsty land,
where no water is. - Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.
- With my soul have I desired thee in the night;
yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early:
for when thy judgments are in the earth,
the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness. - Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving.
- And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
- So we fasted and besought our God for this: and he was intreated of us.
- But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
- For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
