He is the head of the body, that is, the Church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that in every way he should be supreme.And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.

Brethren, we must always give thanks to God for you, and it is only right that we do so. Many are the plans in a human mind, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will prevail.Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.
Wives, be subject to your husbands as you are to the Lord. We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners, yet we know that a man is justified not by the works of the Law but through faith in Jesus Christ. So we too came to believe in Christ Jesus so that we might be justified by faith in him and not by the works of the Law, for no one will be justified by the works of the Law.We who are Jews by birth and not sinful Gentiles know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. Since in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor lack of circumcision is worth anything. All that matters is faith expressing itself through love.For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.
