“All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are beneficial. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything.You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. And even though “I am allowed to do anything,” I must not become a slave to anything.

Deliver me, O Lord, from lying lips, from a deceitful tongue.Rescue me, O Lord, from liars and from all deceitful people.
To you, O God of my ancestors, I give thanks and praise, for you have given me wisdom and power, and have now revealed to me what we asked of you, for you have revealed to us what the king ordered.I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors, for you have given me wisdom and strength. You have told me what we asked of you and revealed to us what the king demanded.
I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I set your ordinances before me.I have chosen to be faithful; I have determined to live by your regulations.
In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I am not afraid; what can flesh do to me?I praise God for what he has promised. I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me?
Keep on doing the things that you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you.Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.
You shall not make gods of silver alongside me, nor shall you make for yourselves gods of gold.Remember, you must not make any idols of silver or gold to rival me.
Keep my steps steady according to your promise, and never let iniquity have dominion over me.Guide my steps by your word, so I will not be overcome by evil.

And after it was sold, were not the proceeds at your disposal? How is it that you have contrived this deed in your heart? You did not lie to us but to God!”Then Peter said, “Ananias, why have you let Satan fill your heart? You lied to the Holy Spirit, and you kept some of the money for yourself. The property was yours to sell or not sell, as you wished. And after selling it, the money was also yours to give away. How could you do a thing like this? You weren’t lying to us but to God!”
So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can anyone do to me?”So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?”
I am the gate. Whoever enters by me will be saved, and will come in and go out and find pasture.Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. They will come and go freely and will find good pastures.
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” So, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.
Deep calls to deep at the thunder of your cataracts; all your waves and your billows have gone over me.I hear the tumult of the raging seas as your waves and surging tides sweep over me.
Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come.

If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask for whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!

By day the Lord commands his steadfast love, and at night his song is with me, a prayer to the God of my life.But each day the Lord pours his unfailing love upon me, and through each night I sing his songs, praying to God who gives me life.
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name.Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name.
