Bible Verses about 'Gain'

For to me, living is Christ and dying is gain. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Of course, there is great gain in godliness combined with contentment. But godliness with contentment is great gain.
For what will it profit them to gain the whole world and forfeit their life? For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
Turn my heart to your decrees, and not to selfish gain.Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to covetousness.
So teach us to count our days that we may gain a wise heart. So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
For what will it profit them if they gain the whole world but forfeit their life? Or what will they give in return for their life? For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
If I give away all my possessions, and if I hand over my body so that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
The wicked earn no real gain, but those who sow righteousness get a true reward. The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.
The lover of money will not be satisfied with money; nor the lover of wealth, with gain. This also is vanity. He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity.
When goods increase, those who eat them increase; and what gain has their owner but to see them with his eyes? When goods increase, they are increased that eat them: and what good is there to the owners thereof, saving the beholding of them with their eyes?
Happy are those who find wisdom, and those who get understanding.Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.
A person's pride will bring humiliation, but one who is lowly in spirit will obtain honor.A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.
Treasures gained by wickedness do not profit, but righteousness delivers from death.Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.
Better is a little with righteousness than large income with injustice.Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right.
Wealth hastily gotten will dwindle, but those who gather little by little will increase it.Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.
Get wisdom; get insight: do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth.Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.
I will make your offspring as numerous as the stars of heaven, and will give to your offspring all these lands; and all the nations of the earth shall gain blessing for themselves through your offspring, because Abraham obeyed my voice and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws. And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.
If another member of the church sins against you, go and point out the fault when the two of you are alone. If the member listens to you, you have regained that one. Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
Do not let loyalty and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good repute in the sight of God and of people.Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
For not by their own sword did they win the land, nor did their own arm give them victory; but your right hand, and your arm, and the light of your countenance, for you delighted in them. For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.
Am I now seeking human approval, or God's approval? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still pleasing people, I would not be a servant of Christ. For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

I want their hearts to be encouraged and united in love, so that they may have all the riches of assured understanding and have the knowledge of God's mystery, that is, Christ himself. That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ.
“Ananias,” Peter asked, “why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back part of the proceeds of the land? While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, were not the proceeds at your disposal? How is it that you have contrived this deed in your heart? You did not lie to us but to God!”But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.
