And the Lord said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them. | The Lord said to Moses, “Come up to me on the mountain, and wait there; and I will give you the tablets of stone, with the law and the commandment, which I have written for their instruction.” |
But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. | I tell you, on the day of judgment you will have to give an account for every careless word you utter. |

And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. | And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fish for people.” |

And I appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask him in my name. |
Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. | Jesus said to her, “Do not hold on to me, because I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’ ” |
Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. | Jesus said to him, “If you are able!—All things can be done for the one who believes.” |
Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. | Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. |
I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. | I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats of this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh. |
Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. | Indeed, all who want to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. |
Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. | Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap; for the measure you give will be the measure you get back. |
Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting. | But for that very reason I received mercy, so that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display the utmost patience, making me an example to those who would come to believe in him for eternal life. |
Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. | Jesus answered them, “Very truly, I tell you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin.” |
Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. | God abides in those who confess that Jesus is the Son of God, and they abide in God. |
But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. | May I never boast of anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. |
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. | But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. |
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. | They answered, “Believe on the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” |
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. | Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By his great mercy he has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. |

And set up over his head his accusation written, This Is Jesus The King Of The Jews. | Over his head they put the charge against him, which read, “This is Jesus, the King of the Jews.” |
Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? | Who is it that conquers the world but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? |
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? | For what will it profit them if they gain the whole world but forfeit their life? Or what will they give in return for their life? |
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. | Jesus answered him, “Those who love me will keep my word, and my Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.” |
