| I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. | The one who is victorious will, like them, be dressed in white. So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’ | And in Hades he raised his eyes, being in torment, and saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his arms. | Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the Lord your God disciplines you. | So you are to know in your heart that the Lord your God was disciplining you just as a man disciplines his son. |
