| But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people. | But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints. |

| Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. | Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. |
| Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin. | Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin. |

| For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! | For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. |
| Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. | It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control your own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the pagans, who do not know God. | For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God. |
| For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them?
