Good faith (3/4)

But examine everything; hold firmly to that which is good, abstain from every form of evil.But test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good. Stay away from every kind of evil.
For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.
How delightful on the mountains Are the feet of one who brings good news, Who announces peace And brings good news of happiness, Who announces salvation, And says to Zion, “Your God reigns!”How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who brings good news, the good news of peace and salvation, the news that the God of Israel reigns!
The young lions do without and suffer hunger; But they who seek the Lord will not lack any good thing.Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing.
Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor.Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed.
For, “The one who desires life, to love and see good days, Must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit. He must turn away from evil and do good; He must seek peace and pursue it.”For the Scriptures say, “If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies. Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it.”
Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, When it is in your power to do it.Do not withhold good from those who deserve it when it’s in your power to help them.
If I have the gift of prophecy and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing.
For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, And abundant in mercy to all who call upon You.O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive, so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him.”Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.”
How much more valuable then is a person than a sheep! So then, it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.And how much more valuable is a person than a sheep! Yes, the law permits a person to do good on the Sabbath.
A good name is to be more desired than great wealth; Favor is better than silver and gold.Choose a good reputation over great riches; being held in high esteem is better than silver or gold.
Seek good and not evil, so that you may live; And so may the Lord God of armies be with you, Just as you have said!Do what is good and run from evil so that you may live! Then the Lord God of Heaven’s Armies will be your helper, just as you have claimed.
We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers and sisters, as is only fitting, because your faith is increasing abundantly, and the love of each and every one of you toward one another grows ever greater.Dear brothers and sisters, we can’t help but thank God for you, because your faith is flourishing and your love for one another is growing.
Teach me to do Your will, For You are my God; Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground.Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. May your gracious Spirit lead me forward on a firm footing.
For I long to see you so that I may impart some spiritual gift to you, that you may be established; that is, that I may be encouraged together with you while among you, each of us by the other’s faith, both yours and mine.For I long to visit you so I can bring you some spiritual gift that will help you grow strong in the Lord. When we get together, I want to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours.
Looking only at Jesus, the originator and perfecter of the faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.
And so the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people.”But the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people.”
Anxiety in a person’s heart weighs it down, But a good word makes it glad.Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up.
Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom.If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom.
But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking forward to the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love.
No one is to seek his own advantage, but rather that of his neighbor.Don’t be concerned for your own good but for the good of others.
For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work among you will complete it by the day of Christ Jesus.And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
