The Lord watches over the sojourners; he upholds the widow and the fatherless, but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin.The Lord protects the foreigners among us. He cares for the orphans and widows, but he frustrates the plans of the wicked.
And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
God, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer's; he makes me tread on my high places.The Sovereign Lord is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights.
The Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are justice. A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and upright is he.He is the Rock; his deeds are perfect. Everything he does is just and fair. He is a faithful God who does no wrong; how just and upright he is!
Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory! SelahWho is the King of glory? The Lord of Heaven’s Armies— he is the King of glory.
And he sat down and called the twelve. And he said to them, “If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.”He sat down, called the twelve disciples over to him, and said, “Whoever wants to be first must take last place and be the servant of everyone else.”
O you who love the Lord, hate evil! He preserves the lives of his saints; he delivers them from the hand of the wicked.You who love the Lord, hate evil! He protects the lives of his godly people and rescues them from the power of the wicked.

So he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights. He neither ate bread nor drank water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.Moses remained there on the mountain with the Lord forty days and forty nights. In all that time he ate no bread and drank no water. And the Lord wrote the terms of the covenant—the Ten Commandments—on the stone tablets.
Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent.Even fools are thought wise when they keep silent; with their mouths shut, they seem intelligent.
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
But he knows the way that I take; when he has tried me, I shall come out as gold. My foot has held fast to his steps; I have kept his way and have not turned aside.But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold. For I have stayed on God’s paths; I have followed his ways and not turned aside.
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever.And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you.
Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you. He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn, and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun.
Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires.
May he grant you your heart's desire and fulfill all your plans!May he grant your heart’s desires and make all your plans succeed.
He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man's heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.
So we fasted and implored our God for this, and he listened to our entreaty.So we fasted and earnestly prayed that our God would take care of us, and he heard our prayer.
But he said, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”He replied, “What is impossible for people is possible with God.”
And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families.And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families of their own.
Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!” And having said this he breathed his last.Then Jesus shouted, “Father, I entrust my spirit into your hands!” And with those words he breathed his last.
For the Lord takes pleasure in his people; he adorns the humble with salvation.For the Lord delights in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.
Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is. And all who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure, just as he is pure.
Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one.And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else.
Then what if you were to see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?Then what will you think if you see the Son of Man ascend to heaven again?

But when he heard it, he said, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.”When Jesus heard this, he said, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do.”
