And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. |
For the Lord takes delight in his people, and he crowns the humble with salvation. | For the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the humble with salvation. |
Jesus replied, “This is the work of God: to believe in the one whom he has sent.” | Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.” |
Therefore, we fasted and prayed to God to grant us a safe journey, and he answered our prayer. | So we fasted and entreated our God for this, and He answered our prayer. |
