But without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever comes to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. | But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. |
But if you seek the Lord, your God, and you strive with all your heart and your soul, you will find him there. | But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul. |

As Scripture asserts, “No one who believes in him will be put to shame.” | For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. |

Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. | O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. |
While Peter was thus imprisoned, the Church prayed fervently to God for him. | Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. |
Beloved, we are God’s children now. What we shall be has not yet been revealed. However, we do know that when he appears we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he really is. Everyone who has this hope in him keeps himself pure, just as he is pure. | Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. |
Every word of God has proved to be true; he is a shield to those who trust in him. | Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. |
However, to those who did accept him and who believed in his name he granted the power to become children of God. | But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. |
But whoever drinks the water that I will give him will never be thirsty. The water that I will give him will become a spring of water within him welling up to eternal life. | But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. |

The one who eats everything must not look contemptuously on the one who does not, and the one who abstains must not pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed both. | Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him. |
Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we can approach God with confidence and receive from him whatever we ask, because we obey his commandments and do whatever is pleasing to him. | Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. |

And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him. |
