And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you forever. | I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, so that He may be with you forever. |
Protect me, O God, for in you I take refuge. | Protect me, God, for I take refuge in You. |
I have instructed you in the ways of wisdom and led you along the paths of righteousness. | I have instructed you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in upright paths. |
I have told you these things so that my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete. | These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full. |
I did not hesitate to tell you what was for your benefit as I proclaimed the word to you and taught you publicly as well as from house to house. | How I did not shrink from declaring to you anything that was beneficial, and teaching you publicly and from house to house. |
This is my commandment: love one another as I have loved you. | This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. |
Come to me, all you who are weary and overburdened, and I will give you rest. | Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. |
I will put my Spirit in you and make you follow my statutes and my ordinances. | And I will put My Spirit within you and bring it about that you walk in My statutes, and are careful and follow My ordinances. |
Because in my eyes you are precious, because you are honored and I love you, I will give people in exchange for you and nations in return for your life. | Since you are precious in My sight, Since you are honored and I love you, I will give other people in your place and other nations in exchange for your life. |
I treasure your word in my heart for fear that I may sin against you. | I have treasured Your word in my heart, So that I may not sin against You. |
