I, even I, am He who comforts you. Who are you that you should be afraid Of a man who will die, And of the son of a man who will be made like grass? | I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass. |
And you shall be holy to Me, for I the Lord am holy, and have separated you from the peoples, that you should be Mine. | And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the Lord am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine. |

But this is what I commanded them, saying, ‘Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be My people. And walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well with you.’ | But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you. |
That I may come to you with joy by the will of God, and may be refreshed together with you. | That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed. |
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. | For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. |
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. | These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. | Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. |
How I kept back nothing that was helpful, but proclaimed it to you, and taught you publicly and from house to house. | And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house. |
O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water. | O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is. |
I acknowledged my sin to You, And my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” And You forgave the iniquity of my sin. I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High. | I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High. |
If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. | If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. |
I will praise You with uprightness of heart, When I learn Your righteous judgments. | I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments. |
I will extol You, my God, O King; And I will bless Your name forever and ever. | I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever. |
Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. | Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. |
I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. | I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. |

O Lord, You are my God. Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. | Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. |
My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing to You, And my soul, which You have redeemed. | My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed. |
Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praise You.
