Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.
But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.Then Peter said, “Ananias, why have you let Satan fill your heart? You lied to the Holy Spirit, and you kept some of the money for yourself. The property was yours to sell or not sell, as you wished. And after selling it, the money was also yours to give away. How could you do a thing like this? You weren’t lying to us but to God!”
But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.Jesus replied, “But even more blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice.”
But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.
It is a snare to the man who devoureth that which is holy, and after vows to make enquiry.Don’t trap yourself by making a rash promise to God and only later counting the cost.
But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently.
For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”
Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless.
And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.He took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling.Avoiding a fight is a mark of honor; only fools insist on quarreling.
Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.God will make this happen, for he who calls you is faithful.
And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. And he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. He gave it to them and said, “Each of you drink from it, for this is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many.”
Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil.Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. When Jesus had tasted it, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.
Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven. In the blink of an eye wealth disappears, for it will sprout wings and fly away like an eagle.

Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket.
