John 14 (3/4)

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.
Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son.
But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.
He must become greater; I must become less.He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less.
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them. And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.
But whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life. But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.
God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth. For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.
Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval. But don’t be so concerned about perishable things like food. Spend your energy seeking the eternal life that the Son of Man can give you. For God the Father has given me the seal of his approval.
Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”Jesus told them, “This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent.”
Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”
I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Anyone who eats this bread will live forever; and this bread, which I will offer so the world may live, is my flesh.
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them.Anyone who eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him.
Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me.I live because of the living Father who sent me; in the same way, anyone who feeds on me will live because of me.
Then what if you see the Son of Man ascend to where he was before! Then what will you think if you see the Son of Man ascend to heaven again?
Jesus answered, “My teaching is not my own. It comes from the one who sent me.”So Jesus told them, “My message is not my own; it comes from God who sent me.”
Jesus said, “I am with you for only a short time, and then I am going to the one who sent me.”But Jesus told them, “I will be with you only a little longer. Then I will return to the one who sent me.”
On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.”On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me!”
Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”
To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.”Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave of sin.”
So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.
You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.
I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture.Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. They will come and go freely and will find good pastures.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.
