Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” Dividing his garments among them, they cast lots. | But Jesus was saying, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots, dividing His garments among themselves. |
Behold, Yahweh’s eye is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his loving kindness. | Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, On those who wait for His faithfulness. |
|
Oh give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever. | Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; For His faithfulness is everlasting. |
But he who looks into the perfect law of freedom and continues, not being a hearer who forgets but a doer of the work, this man will be blessed in what he does. | But one who has looked intently at the perfect law, the law of freedom, and has continued in it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an active doer, this person will be blessed in what he does. |
Finally, all of you be like-minded, compassionate, loving as brothers, tenderhearted, courteous. | To sum up, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, loving, compassionate, and humble. |
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word. | Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word. |
But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved. | But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our wrongdoings, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved). |
My son, don’t despise Yahweh’s discipline, neither be weary of his correction; for whom Yahweh loves, he corrects, even as a father reproves the son in whom he delights. | My son, do not reject the discipline of the Lord Or loathe His rebuke, For whom the Lord loves He disciplines, Just as a father disciplines the son in whom he delights. |
A good name is more desirable than great riches, and loving favor is better than silver and gold. | A good name is to be more desired than great wealth; Favor is better than silver and gold. |
I love Yahweh, because he listens to my voice, and my cries for mercy. Because he has turned his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live. | I love the Lord, because He hears My voice and my pleas. Because He has inclined His ear to me, Therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live. |
‘Return, you backsliding Israel,’ says Yahweh; ‘I will not look in anger on you, for I am merciful,’ says Yahweh. ‘I will not keep anger forever.’ | ‘Return, faithless Israel,’ declares the Lord; ‘I will not look at you in anger. For I am gracious,’ declares the Lord; ‘I will not be angry forever.’ |
For the love of Christ compels us; because we judge thus: that one died for all, therefore all died. He died for all, that those who live should no longer live to themselves, but to him who for their sakes died and rose again. | For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died; and He died for all, so that those who live would no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose on their behalf. |
For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, Yahweh, you know it altogether. | Even before there is a word on my tongue, Behold, Lord, You know it all. |
Father, I desire that they also whom you have given me be with me where I am, that they may see my glory which you have given me, for you loved me before the foundation of the world. | Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. |
Not to us, Yahweh, not to us, but to your name give glory, for your loving kindness, and for your truth’s sake. | Not to us, Lord, not to us, But to Your name give glory, Because of Your mercy, because of Your truth. |
Yahweh, remember your tender mercies and your loving kindness, for they are from old times. Don’t remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions. Remember me according to your loving kindness, for your goodness’ sake, Yahweh. | Remember, Lord, Your compassion and Your faithfulness, For they have been from of old. Do not remember the sins of my youth or my wrongdoings; Remember me according to Your faithfulness, For Your goodness’ sake, Lord. |
Behold, a voice out of the heavens said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” | And behold, a voice from the heavens said, “This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” |
So then you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and of the household of God, being built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief cornerstone. | So then you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the cornerstone. |
Don’t withhold your tender mercies from me, Yahweh. Let your loving kindness and your truth continually preserve me. | You, Lord, will not withhold Your compassion from me; Your mercy and Your truth will continually watch over me. |
Yahweh, you are my God. I will exalt you! I will praise your name, for you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago, in complete faithfulness and truth. | Lord, You are my God; I will exalt You, I will give thanks to Your name; For You have worked wonders, Plans formed long ago, with perfect faithfulness. |
Surely goodness and loving kindness shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in Yahweh’s house forever. | Certainly goodness and faithfulness will follow me all the days of my life, And my dwelling will be in the house of the Lord forever. |
God chose the lowly things of the world, and the things that are despised, and the things that don’t exist, that he might bring to nothing the things that exist, that no flesh should boast before God. | And the insignificant things of the world and the despised God has chosen, the things that are not, so that He may nullify the things that are, so that no human may boast before God. |
For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we will also be part of his resurrection; knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin. | For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin. |
Now I beg you, brothers, look out for those who are causing the divisions and occasions of stumbling, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and turn away from them. | Now I urge you, brothers and sisters, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them. |
Yahweh will command his loving kindness in the daytime. In the night his song shall be with me: a prayer to the God of my life. | The Lord will send His goodness in the daytime; And His song will be with me in the night, A prayer to the God of my life. |
