Bible Verses about Money
Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said, “I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you.” | Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever abandon you,” |
Wealth gained dishonestly dwindles away, but he who gathers by hand makes it grow. | Wealth obtained from nothing dwindles, But one who gathers by labor increases it. |
But those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation, a snare, and many foolish and harmful lusts, such as drown men in ruin and destruction. | But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap, and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge people into ruin and destruction. |

Keep yourselves from covetousness, for a man’s life doesn’t consist of the abundance of the things which he possesses.” | But He said to them, “Beware, and be on your guard against every form of greed; for not even when one is affluent does his life consist of his possessions.” |
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. | For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. |
Therefore give everyone what you owe: if you owe taxes, pay taxes; if customs, then customs; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor. | Pay to all what is due them: tax to whom tax is due; custom to whom custom; respect to whom respect; honor to whom honor. |
How much better it is to get wisdom than gold! Yes, to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver. | How much better it is to get wisdom than gold! And to get understanding is to be chosen above silver. |
But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from you, and we have given you of your own. | But who am I and who are my people that we should be able to offer as generously as this? For all things come from You, and from Your hand we have given to You. |
Charge those who are rich in this present age that they not be arrogant, nor have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on the living God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. | Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to set their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy. |
