The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. | The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. |
I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!” | “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!” |
|
Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised. | For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise. |
But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one. | But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. |
Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. | Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content. |
When Jesus heard this, he said, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do.” | When Jesus heard that, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.” |
The Lord is for me, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me? | The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? |
So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?” | So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” |
So you, too, must keep watch! For you don’t know what day your Lord is coming. | Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. |
So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. | Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. |
O Lord, I have come to you for protection; don’t let me be disgraced. Save me, for you do what is right. | In You, O Lord, I put my trust; Let me never be ashamed; Deliver me in Your righteousness. |
The Lord is my light and my salvation— so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? | The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid? |
If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person? | But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? |
Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth. | Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. |
But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true—it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ. | But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him. |
And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. | And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. |
I said to the Lord, “You are my Master! Every good thing I have comes from you.” | O my soul, you have said to the Lord, “You are my Lord, My goodness is nothing apart from You.” |
Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living. | I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living. |
The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving. | The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I will praise Him. |
As for me, I look to the Lord for help. I wait confidently for God to save me, and my God will certainly hear me. | Therefore I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; My God will hear me. |
In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away! | I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance. |
All who fear the Lord will hate evil. Therefore, I hate pride and arrogance, corruption and perverse speech. | The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate. |
So the Lord must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for his help. | Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you; And therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; Blessed are all those who wait for Him. |
And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus. | And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. |
I love you, Lord; you are my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. | I will love You, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. |
