| For you need endurance so that, having done the will of God, you may receive the promise. | You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. |

| Give diligence to present yourself approved by God, a workman who doesn’t need to be ashamed, properly handling the Word of Truth. | Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. |

| As for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you don’t need for anyone to teach you. | Yahweh is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? Yahweh is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid? | The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid? |
| The fear of Yahweh is to hate evil. I hate pride, arrogance, the evil way, and the perverse mouth. | To fear the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech. |
| In you, Yahweh, I take refuge. Let me never be disappointed. Deliver me in your righteousness. | In you, Lord, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame; deliver me in your righteousness. |
