For we brought nothing into the world, and we certainly can’t carry anything out. But having food and clothing, we will be content with that.For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.
He who loves silver shall not be satisfied with silver, nor he who loves abundance, with increase. This also is vanity.Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income. This too is meaningless.
Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal.Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his life?What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?
He said to them, “Beware! Keep yourselves from covetousness, for a man’s life doesn’t consist of the abundance of the things which he possesses.”Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”
Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said, “I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you.”Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
While we don’t look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
But those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation, a snare, and many foolish and harmful lusts, such as drown men in ruin and destruction.Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.
Better is little, with the fear of Yahweh, than great treasure with trouble.Better a little with the fear of the Lord than great wealth with turmoil.
As he came out of his mother’s womb, naked shall he go again as he came, and shall take nothing for his labor, which he may carry away in his hand.Everyone comes naked from their mother’s womb, and as everyone comes, so they depart. They take nothing from their toil that they can carry in their hands.
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
How much better it is to get wisdom than gold! Yes, to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.How much better to get wisdom than gold, to get insight rather than silver!

Charge those who are rich in this present age that they not be arrogant, nor have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on the living God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy.Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.
Put to death therefore your members which are on the earth: sexual immorality, uncleanness, depraved passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.

The multitude of those who believed were of one heart and soul. Not one of them claimed that anything of the things which he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common.All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.
Why do you set your eyes on that which is not? For it certainly sprouts wings like an eagle and flies in the sky.Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle.
The rich man’s wealth is his strong city, like an unscalable wall in his own imagination.The wealth of the rich is their fortified city; they imagine it a wall too high to scale.

But whoever has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, then closes his heart of compassion against him, how does God’s love remain in him?If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?
