| God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? |
| And this hope will not lead to disappointment. | God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. | Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. | All of this occurred to fulfill the Lord’s message through his prophet: “Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.’” | Now all this took place so that what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet would be fulfilled: “Behold, the virgin will conceive and give birth to a Son, and they shall name Him Immanuel,” which translated means, “God with us.” |
