- Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.
- Sing to the Lord, for he has done wonderful things.
Make known his praise around the world. - But be sure to fear the Lord and faithfully serve him. Think of all the wonderful things he has done for you.
- This is the day the Lord has made.
We will rejoice and be glad in it. - Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness.
Let the whole world know what he has done. - Who has done such mighty deeds,
summoning each new generation from the beginning of time?
It is I, the Lord, the First and the Last.
I alone am he. - And do everything with love.
- In that wonderful day you will sing:
“Thank the Lord! Praise his name!
Tell the nations what he has done.
Let them know how mighty he is!” - For the word of the Lord holds true,
and we can trust everything he does. - But we have sinned and done wrong. We have rebelled against you and scorned your commands and regulations.
- And the Lord our God commanded us to obey all these decrees and to fear him so he can continue to bless us and preserve our lives, as he has done to this day.
- Arise, Jerusalem! Let your light shine for all to see.
For the glory of the Lord rises to shine on you. - Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.
- But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!
- Pray like this:
Our Father in heaven,
may your name be kept holy.
May your Kingdom come soon.
May your will be done on earth,
as it is in heaven. - The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!
- The Lord is like a father to his children,
tender and compassionate to those who fear him. - The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me,
for the Lord has anointed me
to bring good news to the poor.
He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted
and to proclaim that captives will be released
and prisoners will be freed. - Suppose you sin by violating one of the Lord’s commands. Even if you are unaware of what you have done, you are guilty and will be punished for your sin.
- Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.
- Job stood up and tore his robe in grief. Then he shaved his head and fell to the ground to worship.
He said,
“I came naked from my mother’s womb,
and I will be naked when I leave.
The Lord gave me what I had,
and the Lord has taken it away.
Praise the name of the Lord!” - The master was full of praise. ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’
- Unfailing love, O Lord, is yours.
Surely you repay all people
according to what they have done. - For the Lord gave us this command when he said,
‘I have made you a light to the Gentiles,
to bring salvation to the farthest corners of the earth.’ - Then Jesus told them, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen.”
God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.But even if you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don’t worry or be afraid of their threats.
