A man’s pride brings him low, but one of lowly spirit gains honor.Pride brings a person low, but the lowly in spirit gain honor.
Yahweh makes poor and makes rich. He brings low, he also lifts up.The Lord sends poverty and wealth; he humbles and he exalts.

He humbled you, allowed you to be hungry, and fed you with manna, which you didn’t know, neither did your fathers know, that he might teach you that man does not live by bread only, but man lives by every word that proceeds out of Yahweh’s mouth.He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
For Yahweh takes pleasure in his people. He crowns the humble with salvation.For the Lord takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.
If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in the darkness, we lie and don’t tell the truth.If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth.
They continued steadfastly in the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and prayer.They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
The words of a wise man’s mouth are gracious; but a fool is swallowed by his own lips.Words from the mouth of the wise are gracious, but fools are consumed by their own lips.
God is faithful, through whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, God’s love, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger.My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.

He who doesn’t take his cross and follow after me isn’t worthy of me.Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
