But the tax collector, standing some distance away, was even unwilling to raise his eyes toward heaven, but was beating his chest, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, the sinner!’The tax collector, however, stood some distance away and would not even raise his eyes to heaven. Rather, he kept beating his breast as he said, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner.’
But He said, “The things that are impossible with people are possible with God.”He replied, “What is impossible for men is possible for God.”

And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup, which is poured out for you, is the new covenant in My blood.”And he did the same with the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which will be poured out for you.”
But Jesus was saying, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots, dividing His garments among themselves.Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots to divide his garments.
And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into Your hands I entrust My spirit.” And having said this, He died.He cried out, “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.” And with these words he breathed his last.
He is not here, but He has risen. Remember how He spoke to you while He was still in Galilee, saying that the Son of Man must be handed over to sinful men, and be crucified, and on the third day rise from the dead.He is not here. And He ate nothing during those days, and when they had ended, He was hungry.Filled with the Holy Spirit, Jesus returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the desert for forty days, where he was tempted by the devil. During that time he ate nothing, and at the end of it he was famished.
The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He anointed Me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim release to captives, And recovery of sight to the blind, To set free those who are oppressed.The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring the good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to prisoners and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free.
I have not come to call the righteous to repentance, but sinners.I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.
Blessed are you when the people hate you, and when they exclude you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man.Blessed are you when people hate you and ostracize you, when they insult you and denounce your name as evil on account of the Son of Man.
But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who are abusive to you.But to those of you who are listening to me, I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.

Give to everyone who asks of you, and whoever takes away what is yours, do not demand it back.Give to everyone who begs from you, and do not demand the return of what is yours from the one who has taken it.
