You want something that you cannot have, so you commit murder. And you covet something but cannot obtain it, so you engage in quarrels and fights. You do not have because you do not ask.You lust, and don’t have. You murder and covet, and can’t obtain. You fight and make war. You don’t have, because you don’t ask.
Conduct yourselves wisely toward outsiders, making the most of your opportunity. Let your speech always be gracious and seasoned with wisdom, so that you will know how to respond properly to all.Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time. Many are the plans in a human mind, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will prevail.There are many plans in a man’s heart, but Yahweh’s counsel will prevail.
If you refrain from traveling on the Sabbath and from engaging in your own interests on my holy day, if you call the Sabbath a day of joy and regard the Lord’s holy day as honorable, if you honor it by not going your own way, serving your own interests, or attending to your own affairs; then you will find true happiness in the Lord, and I will enable you to ride upon the heights of the earth. Rather, I discipline my body and bring it under control, for fear that after preaching to others I myself may be disqualified.But I beat my body and bring it into submission, lest by any means, after I have preached to others, I myself should be disqualified.
The one who calls you is faithful, and he will accomplish this.He who calls you is faithful, who will also do it.
A gentle reply turns away wrath, but a harsh word arouses anger.A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

But who am I, and what are your people, that we should be able to do this? For you did not receive a spirit of slavery leading to fear; rather, you received the Spirit of adoption, enabling us to cry out, “Abba! Father!”For you didn’t receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”
I, the Lord, am your God. You must obey my laws and be careful to observe my ordinances. Keep holy my Sabbaths as a sign between me and you so that you will know that I am the Lord, your God.I am Yahweh your God. Walk in my statutes, keep my ordinances, and do them. Make my Sabbaths holy. They shall be a sign between me and you, that you may know that I am Yahweh your God.
Sing praise to the Lord for his mighty deeds; let this be known throughout the entire world.Sing to Yahweh, for he has done excellent things! Let this be known in all the earth!
