| May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. | We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps. | The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps. |
| God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through? | God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it? |
| Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. | This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. |

| Everyone enjoys a fitting reply; it is wonderful to say the right thing at the right time! | To make an apt answer is a joy to a man, and a word in season, how good it is! |
| God will make this happen, for he who calls you is faithful. | He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it. |
| A gentle answer deflects anger, but harsh words make tempers flare. | A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. |
| For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word. | Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word. |
| And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations. | And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules. |
