| It is a snare to a man to make a rash dedication, then later to consider his vows. | It is rash to pledge a sacred gift, or to make a vow and then have second thoughts. |
| He who walks blamelessly walks surely, but he who perverts his ways will be found out. | Anyone who leads an honorable life walks in safety, but whoever pursues wicked ways will be found out. |

He then fed you with manna, something with which your fathers were not familiar, so that you might come to know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes forth from the mouth of the Lord. |
| He was despised and rejected by men, a man of suffering and acquainted with disease. | When a man takes a new wife, he shall not go out in the army, neither shall he be assigned any business.
