The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps. The mind of a person plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.
As in water face reflects face, so the heart of man reflects the man.As in water a face reflects the face, So the heart of a person reflects the person.
The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way.The steps of a man are established by the Lord, And He delights in his way.

The ransom of a man's life is his wealth, but a poor man hears no threat. The ransom of a person’s life is his wealth, But the poor hears no rebuke.
Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand. Many plans are in a person’s heart, But the advice of the Lord will stand.
A rich man's wealth is his strong city, and like a high wall in his imagination.A rich person’s wealth is his strong city, And like a high wall in his own imagination.
The words of a wise man's mouth win him favor, but the lips of a fool consume him.Words from the mouth of a wise person are gracious, while the lips of a fool consume him.
Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man!Blessed are you when the people hate you, and when they exclude you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man.
Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the heart.Every person’s way is right in his own eyes, But the Lord examines the hearts.
Anxiety in a man's heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad.Anxiety in a person’s heart weighs it down, But a good word makes it glad.

Behold, his soul is puffed up; it is not upright within him, but the righteous shall live by his faith.Behold, as for the impudent one, His soul is not right within him; But the righteous one will live by his faith.
The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.The conclusion, when everything has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person.
Then I saw that all toil and all skill in work come from a man's envy of his neighbor. This also is vanity and a striving after wind.I have seen that every labor and every skill which is done is the result of rivalry between a person and his neighbor. This too is futility and striving after wind.
And he said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”But He said to them, “Beware, and be on your guard against every form of greed; for not even when one is affluent does his life consist of his possessions.”
If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person's religion is worthless. If anyone thinks himself to be religious, yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this person’s religion is worthless.
But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man's trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many. But the gracious gift is not like the offense. For if by the offense of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many.
I perceived that there is nothing better for them than to be joyful and to do good as long as they live; also that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil—this is God's gift to man.I know that there is nothing better for them than to rejoice and to do good in one’s lifetime; moreover, that every person who eats and drinks sees good in all his labor—this is the gift of God.
In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.By this the love of God was revealed in us, that God has sent His only Son into the world so that we may live through Him.
Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.Beyond question, great is the mystery of godliness: He who was revealed in the flesh, Was vindicated in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Proclaimed among the nations, Believed on in the world, Taken up in glory.
Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.The one who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and the one who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will reveal Myself to him.
But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction. But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, but it is the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction.
