He said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you fishers for men.” | And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. |
While they were looking steadfastly into the sky as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white clothing, who also said, “You men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who was received up from you into the sky, will come back in the same way as you saw him going into the sky.” | And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. |

But he said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” | And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. |
Who exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men doing what is inappropriate with men, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error. Even as they refused to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting. | Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient. |
He was despised and rejected by men, a man of suffering and acquainted with disease. He was despised as one from whom men hide their face; and we didn’t respect him. | He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. |
For no prophecy ever came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke, being moved by the Holy Spirit. | For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. |
For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? For if I were still pleasing men, I wouldn’t be a servant of Christ. | For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. |
There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved! | Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. |
If I speak with the languages of men and of angels, but don’t have love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. | Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. |
For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. | For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. |
Looking at them, Jesus said, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” | But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. |
Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of King Herod, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is he who is born King of the Jews? For we saw his star in the east, and have come to worship him.” | Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. |
Jesus, looking at them, said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God, for all things are possible with God.” | And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. |
Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. | Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. |
Glory to God in the highest, on earth peace, good will toward men. | Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. |
Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. | Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. |
A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men. | A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men. |
If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. | If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. |
Watch! Stand firm in the faith! Be courageous! Be strong! | Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. |
He isn’t here, but is risen. Remember what he told you when he was still in Galilee, saying that the Son of Man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men and be crucified, and the third day rise again? | He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. |
One who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm. | He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. |
For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. | For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. |
Children’s children are the crown of old men; the glory of children is their parents. | Children's children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers. |
But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. | But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. |
And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. | And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. |
