- Hear my prayer, Yahweh, and give ear to my cry.
Don’t be silent at my tears.
For I am a stranger with you,
a foreigner, as all my fathers were. - I delight to do your will, my God.
Yes, your law is within my heart. - My son, if your heart is wise,
then my heart will be glad, even mine. - I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes. You will keep my ordinances and do them.
- My soul, wait in silence for God alone,
for my expectation is from him. - He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood lives in me, and I in him.
- Lord, all my desire is before you.
My groaning is not hidden from you. - I cried to him with my mouth.
He was extolled with my tongue. - I acknowledged my sin to you.
I didn’t hide my iniquity.
I said, I will confess my transgressions to Yahweh,
and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah. - Yahweh is my light and my salvation.
Whom shall I fear?
Yahweh is the strength of my life.
Of whom shall I be afraid? - You shall keep my Sabbaths, and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am Yahweh.
- When I kept silence, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.
- If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, even as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.
- Behold, God is my helper.
The Lord is the one who sustains my soul. - “Yahweh is my portion,” says my soul.
“Therefore I will hope in him.” - But you, Yahweh, are a shield around me,
my glory, and the one who lifts up my head. - “For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
and your ways are not my ways,” says Yahweh. - In this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; and so you will be my disciples.
- If you love me, keep my commandments.
- For you are my rock and my fortress,
therefore for your name’s sake lead me and guide me. - In the multitude of my thoughts within me,
your comforts delight my soul. - I will lift up my eyes to the hills.
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from Yahweh,
who made heaven and earth. - Why are you in despair, my soul?
Why are you disturbed within me?
Hope in God! For I shall still praise him,
the saving help of my countenance, and my God. - Listen, my son, and receive my sayings.
The years of your life will be many. - I spread out my hands to you.
My soul thirsts for you, like a parched land. Selah.
