And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’A second likewise is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’

Do not forsake your own friend or your father’s friend, Nor go to your brother’s house in the day of your calamity; Better is a neighbor nearby than a brother far away.Don’t forsake your friend and your father’s friend. For if you thoroughly amend your ways and your doings, if you thoroughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbor, if you do not oppress the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place, or walk after other gods to your hurt, then I will cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers forever and ever.For if you thoroughly amend your ways and your doings, if you thoroughly execute justice between a man and his neighbor; if you don’t oppress the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow, and don’t shed innocent blood in this place, and don’t walk after other gods to your own hurt, then I will cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, from of old even forever more.
As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens his friend’s countenance.
And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but don’t consider the beam that is in your own eye?
