| Thus you shall keep my commandments and observe them: I am the Lord. | Therefore shall ye keep my commandments, and do them: I am the Lord. |

| My child, keep your father's commandment, and do not forsake your mother's teaching. | My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother. |
| So now, O Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you? Only to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commandments of the Lord your God and his decrees that I am commanding you today, for your own well-being. | And now, Israel, what doth the Lord thy God require of thee, but to fear the Lord thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, To keep the commandments of the Lord, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good? |
