Bible Verses about 'Orphans'

  • I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.
  • Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.
  • You shall not afflict any widow or fatherless child. If you afflict them in any way, and they cry at all to Me, I will surely hear their cry; and My wrath will become hot, and I will kill you with the sword; your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.
  • Learn to do good;
    Seek justice,
    Rebuke the oppressor;
    Defend the fatherless,
    Plead for the widow.
  • Sing to God, sing praises to His name;
    Extol Him who rides on the clouds,
    By His name Yah,
    And rejoice before Him.
    A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows,
    Is God in His holy habitation.
  • The Lord watches over the strangers;
    He relieves the fatherless and widow;
    But the way of the wicked He turns upside down.
  • Thus says the Lord of hosts:
    ‘Execute true justice,
    Show mercy and compassion
    Everyone to his brother.
    Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless,
    The alien or the poor.
    Let none of you plan evil in his heart
    Against his brother.’
  • Because I delivered the poor who cried out,
    The fatherless and the one who had no helper.
    The blessing of a perishing man came upon me,
    And I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy.
  • Defend the poor and fatherless;
    Do justice to the afflicted and needy.
  • For if you thoroughly amend your ways and your doings, if you thoroughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbor, if you do not oppress the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place, or walk after other gods to your hurt, then I will cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers forever and ever.

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.Next verse!With image
