- For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.
- The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love. - But the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.
- But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.
- Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.
- Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

Return to the Lord your God,
for he is gracious and compassionate,

and he relents from sending calamity. - The prospect of the righteous is joy,
but the hopes of the wicked come to nothing.
When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment. Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.Next verse!With image
